July Newsletter – High School Dept.

The following are the activities for the Month of July:

  1. July is Nutrition Month! With the theme, “Timbang Iwasto sa Tamang Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo.”, classroom and inter-section academic activities and contests will be conducted to enable our students to understand the importance of good health and healthy living.
  2. Parent – Teacher Conference. The first PTC will be on July 31, 2015. We expect for you, dear parents, to meet and confer with your child’s adviser. Through this, you will get the chance to know how your teenager performs in school. Before the said schedule, expect to receive a separate letter from us, for your guidance.
  3. Sports Try-outs. Selection of varsity players for various sports events and initial training will be conducted.  Through this, your child will get the chance to develop his/her confidence, athletic skills and sportsmanship, and eventually, be able to compete in inter-school level competitions.
  4. Launching of School Clubs. This co-curricular program aims to give each student exposure to different interest areas.  Also, attending club meetings serves as an opportunity for each member to interact with students and teachers from other levels and share common interests.  Your child will get to join one of the following School Clubs:
  • iThink.iSpeak, whose primary objective is to boost the students’ critical thinking and speaking skills.
  • The Pen Power is the School org that will produce potential journalists.
  • O.C. (Childean Oblates Club), which targets the spiritual and moral development of its members.
  • M.G! (Official Mathematicians’ Guild) is for the students who want to have fun while learning numbers.
  • The Young Explorers will let its members discover scientific facts through exciting activities and experiments.
  • The Glee Club will develop, not only the singing voice, but also, the confidence of its every member.
  • PTC (Page Turners’ Club) will enhance the students’ analytical reading skills.
  • The Teen Chefs will focus on the cooking/baking skills of the students.
  • The Serve-ivors’ Club is for the students who love to play or learn volleyball.
  • The Sketchers’ Club will hone its members’ spatial and creative abilities.
  • The Junior Rookies is an avenue for the basketball enthusiasts.
  • All Aboard!Gamers’ Club is for those who want to learn the tactics of playing board games.
  • The Smashers will train its members to play and love badminton.
  • The Groundstroke Wizards aims to equip its members with skills to play table tennis strategically.

5. Student Council Elections.  With the goals of developing and promoting leadership abilities, building a partnership between the school and community with service, and creating activities for campus pride and participation, we encourage every student to participate in the election process whether as a candidate or voter.

With the aforementioned events, we are looking forward to your active involvement in the life of your child, as he/she takes off to reach his/her goals for this school year.
