High School
Being able to competently communicate is one of the fundamental indicators of academic success. As such, Child Jesus of Prague School has been unfailing in gearing towards this facet of student excellence through continuous English proficiency programs across all subject areas.
With the theme: “READ AND BE BETTER; SHARE, SPEAK AND BE CLEVER,” English Month will once again feature English as the universal language. This will be emphasized through various activities throughout the month of September that include Spelling Bee, Declamation, Speech Choir, Tableau of Characters, and Infomercial. English Month aims to provide distinct opportunities for the students to sharpen their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and at the same time to realize that enriching one’s language capabilities can also be fun!
On a different note, please be reminded of the 3rd Parenting Seminar scheduled on September 9, 2017 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Calumpang Campus. Distribution of the First Quarter Report Cards will immediately follow the seminar and will end at 2:00 pm. Please be advised that the given schedule will strictly be implemented and we expect your compliance on this matter.
Middle School

This month, with the theme “Care. Connect. Communicate. A Stronger Home Let’s Create” the School will once again highlight English as the universal language and skills related to this, with emphasis on building better familial relationship language will be honed through various activities that your child could take part in.
The English Month activities include the following: Spelling Quiz Bee, Short Story and Feature Writing, Persuasive Speaking and Book Fair. These activities do not only intend to provide distinct opportunities for our students to sharpen their reading, writing speaking, listening and vocabulary skills; but also to help them realize that enriching one’s language capabilities could also be fun.
Also, kindly take note of the Issuance of the First Quarter Report Cards on September 9, 2017 at Calumpang Campus. This will be right after the 3rd Parenting Seminar with Mr. Francis Kong. Please be advised that we will strictly follow the given schedule. Your child’s adviser will start to accommodate you and release your child’s report card right after the said seminar.
Finally, the MS Family Day is rescheduled on September 16, 2017, Saturday.
Grade SchooL
In line with the Grade School Department’s celebration of the English Month, we again, would like to emphasize the importance of being proficient and confident in speaking, reading, and writing in English through the various activities that your child will be exposed to. With its theme: “English Takes Pride: Read, Talk, Write, and Excel”, students will be able to experience and enjoy the classroom-based activities prepared by their teachers like Dicto drill, Spelling Bee, Poem Recitation, Intersection Speech Choir competition, and English Only Policy.
We will still have the annual Scholastic Book Fair where much anticipation and excitement have been observed from our students. This is an indication that they value and enjoy reading books, widening their vocabulary and developing their comprehension.
In addition, we are happy to inform you that Child Jesus of Prague School is one of the 20 chosen schools nationwide to have the Nickelodeon, the kid’s network, Road to Worldwide Day of Play which will happen on September 29, 2017 at CJPS, Calumpang Campus. The aim is to encourage active play and healthy lifestyle amongst students. On this half-day activity, kids just need to have fun and get the message that play is important! However, please be informed dear parents that this activity will be just for Grades 1 to 4 students only.
With your cooperation and support, Nickelodeon would also extend this celebration to the children of the fallen soldiers of Marawi. They will open a donation drive in our school so you and your children can extend the gift of active play to these children by sharing pre-loved toys in their Worldwide Day of Play box which is placed in our school’s designated area. They would happily accept all kinds of toys that encourage active and physical play, but with the exception of weapons and any form of pig or piglet shape and/or imagery.
Aside from the above mentioned activities, please be reminded of the 3rd Parenting Seminar on September 9, 2017 at the Calumpang Campus from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, to be followed by the distribution of the First Quarter Report Cards.
Preschool
September is a busy month for the Preschoolers as we discuss “People in My Community.” We live with our families in different types of communities. For example, each community is different in setting, size and services provided. During this topic of study, children will learn more about the community in which they live with their family and explore these four big ideas about communities:
- I live in a community with my family.
- People living in communities learn to live, work and play together.
- In my community there are people who help keep me safe.
- In my community there are people who help keep me healthy.
In connection to this, we would like to invite you, dear parents as we celebrate “Mommy and Daddy Week” from September 11 to 20, 2017 Here, you can spend some of your precious time with your child by visiting the school to discuss your occupation and/or hobbies. For example, if you are a doctor or dentist, you can show the different tools you use in your work. You can also share your hobbies with us — you can play an instrument or prepare your child’s favorite food. The objective of this celebration is to inform the children on the different occupations and hobbies their friends’ parents have. Kindly write your name on your preferred date and time on the space provided below. Your presence will surely make your child’s preschool life memorable.
Finally, September is also the month when we celebrate one of the most important and grandest events of the school year — Grandparents’ Day 2017! Grandparents’ Day is not just a day to show gratitude for all the great things that our dear grandparents have done for us. It is also a day to revel in the fact that grandparents will always offer their love and bestow kindness upon their grandchildren. So, please save the date …. September 30, 2017 (Saturday) for this momentous occasion! Details about our celebration will be communicated in the succeeding weeks.
