SY 2016-2017 Schedule of Distribution of Books, Parents’ Orientation and Opening of Classes

Dear Parents,

We wish to welcome you to the community of Child Jesus of Prague School. Another exciting learning experience awaits your child this SY 2016-2017 and we wish to provide you with some important announcements. Below are the details of the schedule of the distribution of books, orientation of parents for new enrollees, Grade 7 NAT orientation and minor adjustment in the opening of classes for several levels:

I. DISTRIBUTION OF BOOKS

Preschool Department – May 30, 2016

Note: Nursery and Junior Kinder levels will only receive school supplies and all workbooks will be distributed on the first day of classes. The Senior Kinder level will be receiving school supplies and some of their books but workbooks will also be given on their first day of school.

Grades 1 to 3 – May 31, 2016 (Distribution of books for grades 1 and 2 will be from 8:00am to 12noon and Grade 3 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm)

Grades 4 to 6 – June 1, 2016 (Distribution of books for grades 4 and 5 will be from 8:00am to 12noon and Grade 6 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm)

Grades 7 and 8 – June 2, 2016 (Distribution of books for grade 7 will be from 8:00am to 12noon and Grade 8 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm)

Grades 9 to 11 – June 3, 2016 (Distribution of books for grades 9 and 10 will be from 8:00am to 12noon and Grade 11 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm)

All Levels – June 6, 2016 Onwards (Claiming of books for those who were not able to come on the above-stated dates.)

Procedure in Claiming of Books:

• Please claim the books of your child based on the above schedule. You may also claim the books of your child from a different grade level provided that one of them is scheduled to receive his/ her books on that date.
• Please bring your Book Assessment Checklist and Official Receipt and directly present it in ROOM # 2 in the Elementary Department.
• If books and school supplies have not yet been purchased, please visit our business office asap to avoid delays during the actual distribution of books.  

II. PARENTS’ ORIENTATION (FOR NEW ENROLLEES ONLY)

Preschool Department – July 9, 2016 at 8:30am to 11:30am in the Elementary Department

Elementary Department (Grs. 1- 6) – July 9, 2016 at 1:30pm to 4:30pm in the Elementary Department

High School Department (Grs. 7- 10) – June 15, 2016 at 8:30am to 11:30am in the High School Department

Senior High School (Gr. 11) – June 15, 2016 at 1:30am to 4:30pm in the High School Department

Note: For Grade 11, all parents (old and new) are requested to attend the orientation.

III. GRADE 7 NAT ORIENTATION (FOR STUDENTS ONLY)

There will be a NAT Orientation for ALL GRADE 7 Students on June 9, 2016 from 8:00am to 12:00noon in the CJPS Calumpang Campus. All are required to come wearing casual attire and bringing with them 2 pencils (Mongol #2, well-sharpened and with eraser), notebook, ballpen and snacks.  

IV. OPENING OF CLASSES

With the school’s goal to provide its students with an upgraded, more spacious and conducive learning environment ready to take on the challenges of K-12, we have embarked on the expansion project in our Calumpang Campus. The project started first week of March 2016 and had a target date of completion right before the previously announced opening of classes. Unfortunately, the school’s contractor had several delays on their target, which also prompted us to subdivide the project into two contractors in order to increase efficiency. However, final touches will still have to be made within the period of last week of June to July 15 in order to ensure everything will be safe and secure prior to the arrival of students.

In this regard, we would like to announce that the opening of classes of the PRESCHOOL to GRADE 4 levels will be adjusted from June 27, 2016 to July 18, 2016. Minor adjustments in schedule will be made throughout the school year to compensate for the above-mentioned change. Opening of classes for Grades 5 to 11 levels will still be on June 20, 2016.

We assure you that once our brand new building has been completed, your children will be the first to benefit from this major undertaking.

Below is the schedule for the opening of classes:

FOR GRADES 5 to 11 LEVELS ONLY (JUNE 20, 2016)

Grade 5 and 6 – 7:00am to 11:45am (1st Day)

Grades 7 and 8 – 7:00am to 11:45am (1st Day)

Grades 9, 10 and 11 – 7:00am to 12:00noon (1st Day)

Note: Regular class schedule will be followed by the Grades 5-11 levels starting June 21, 2016.

FOR PRESCHOOL TO  GRADE 4 LEVELS ONLY (JULY 18, 2016)

Preschool Department – Students will be dismissed one hour earlier for the first week of classes

Grade 1 – 7:30am to 10:30am (AM Session, 1st Day), 1:00pm to 4:00pm (PM Session, 1st Day)

Grade 2 – 7:30am to 11:15am (1st Day)

Grade 3 and 4 – 7:00am to 11:30am (1st Day)

Note: Regular class schedule will be followed by the Grades 1-4 levels starting July 19, 2016.
