PRESCHOOL
We had our Oral Reading for the whole month of November, and I would like to thank all parents and guardians for helping our students in logging in on time in our Oral Reading Room. Your cooperation made our activity possible. With this activity, we were able to measure each child’s reading ability. Let us continue to work together in honing your kids to become good readers someday.
For this December, please take note of the following activities:
- Light a Tree Project: We would like to invite you once again to be a part of this significant undertaking by supporting CHILD JESUS OF PRAGUE SCHOOL in raising funds for their annual outreach program by buying a parol worth Php 350.00. Your parol will be used to decorate our school's special Christmas tree. Proceeds from the project will be donated to families most affected by the pandemic and typhoon Ulysses in Binangonan and other areas in Rizal. For more details, please see the letter posted in your child’s Google Classroom dated November 20, 2020.
- 2nd Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC): To give you an update on your child’s progress in the online class, we would like to invite you to our 2nd Parent-Teacher Conference. This will happen from December 7 to 11, 2020 via Google Meet. The schedule and meeting link will be given to you by your child’s adviser.
- Virtual Class Christmas Program: Despite what is happening around us, we will celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ by having a Virtual Christmas Party on December 17, 2020. Games, singing of Christmas songs, and presentation of students will happen on this day. Details will be given within the week.
- Christmas Break: Students’ Christmas vacation will start on December 18, 2020. Online classes will resume on January 11, 2021.
GRADE SCHOOL
As we end the second quarter and the year 2020, our partnership gets even stronger in facing the challenges of this new normal. We express appreciation for your support to your children’s online class. Let us continue to be in touch to address and solve every encountered concern.
For this month, we continue to provide our students with interesting and engaging activities to develop them into well-rounded individuals. Our students had enjoyable and fun online activities with the concluded MATHira-mahuSCI QUIZZIZ Edition. But there is still more for them to cherish this month of December through the One Day Happy Math-Science Games on December 4, 2020, which aims to provide our students with challenging activities wherein they could gain recreational pleasure as they apply basic Math and Science skills. Details on materials needed by your children will be given by the class adviser.
The following are the important reminders for December:
- Second Parent-Teacher Conference – to start on December 5, 2020. Each one of you will receive a schedule sent by your child’s class adviser. We expect from you, dear parents, to meet and confer again online with your child’s adviser. Through this, you will get the chance to know how your child performs in school for the first half of the school year.
- Assessment Week for the Second Quarter – which will be on December 10 – 16, 2020. We encourage you to support and guide your children to let them do the tasks given. Let us be together in developing your children’s self-confidence and independence in performing the tasks for them to be proud of their output as they do it all by themselves.
- Virtual Class Christmas Party – an online bonding of your child’s class to celebrate the season will be on December 17, 2020, at 8:30 – 10:30 am for Grades 3 and 4 and 1:00 – 3:00 pm for Grades 1 and 2.
- Christmas Break – Students’ Christmas break will start on December 18, 2020, and the resumption of classes will be on January 11, 2021
Lastly, as we are near to the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the school sent you an email about its CJPS Light a Christmas Tree Project dated November 20, 2020, in place of the annual December Christmas Drive. Students from all levels are encouraged to avail of a traditional parol/s. Through this small gesture, we aim to instill in the hearts of our students to always go beyond themselves and express their generosity, especially towards the less fortunate. The fund we will raise will be donated to the families most affected by the pandemic and by Typhoon Ulysses within Binangonan and other parts of Rizal.
We thank you for being our partners and we hope that you will continue to support and adhere to all of our endeavors which are all in line with our year-round theme: "We create school and home links, and bring faith, wisdom, and love in sync.”
MIDDLE SCHOOL
November was the month when our students honed their mathematical skills and abilities through various activities like Math Skill Builders, Math Puzzle of the Day and Math TikTalk. It was a great feat seeing them being able to enhance their number facility, answer math puzzles and share math tricks that can help others to solve faster and easier. Our family event entitled Figure My Family Out was a blast because of your participation and support.
We are now in the most wonderful time of the year. Our celebration may change this time around but one thing is for sure: the spirit of Christmas will always remain. That is why we have already launched our Annual Christmas Drive through the Light a Tree Project. This will allow our students to help the families most affected by this pandemic and the recent typhoons. You may participate until December 15, 2020.
This month is also our Science Month. We have prepared classroom-based activities for our students that will allow them to:
- appreciate the discoveries made by scientists;
- raise the awareness on how to keep their family healthy amidst pandemic; and,
- create lasting memories with their families through Family Science Experiment activity.
In addition, below are the other two major activities for this month:
- Second Parent-Teacher Conference – The second PTC is scheduled on December 10-16, 2020. We will provide you with a specific schedule per parent as to when you are going to talk with your child’s adviser via Zoom.
- Students’ Christmas Program – This will be on December 17, 2020 from 8:00-10:00 am for Grades 5 and 6 and 1:00-3:00 pm for Grades 7 and 8. The SSG officers with the help of the different clubs will prepare a program with dance numbers, fun games and activities. Christmas break of students will start the following day and classes will resume on January 11, 2021.
HIGH SCHOOL
December is a great month at Child Jesus of Prague School. We start the month by launching the CJPS “Christmas Drive” through the “ Light A Tree” project. This has been part of the school's tradition and a wonderful opportunity for every CJPS family to show care and love to the less fortunate members of the community, especially at this time of crisis. Yearly, through your kindness and generosity, we are able to reach out to at least a thousand families in our community. With that, we thank you in advance as we continue this program.
This month is likewise the Science and Technology month. CJPS students will be provided with opportunities to discover and enhance their analytical and critical thinking abilities, and to showcase their creative problem-solving skills through various activities and projects. Our classZoom-based activities for this month are inspired by the theme: “Conquering New Normal With Science and Technology.” These activities are the following: Science Group Quiz Bee, Traditional Poster Making Contest, Sci-Vlog, Digital Comic Strip Making Contest, and Family Joke Time (Science Edition).
Moreover, despite our current situation, the students will be given opportunities to celebrate the birth of our Savior with their classmates and friends through a virtual Christmas Party, which will be held on December 17, 2020 from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. This celebration will be simple because the students will be wearing their online class uniform (plain white shirt), no exchange gifts and buffet table for food. They will be having engaging and fun activities, and simple messages for everyone.
Christmas break will start on December 18 and classes will resume on January 11, 2021.
