PRESCHOOL

October marks the end of the first half of the school year. By this time, your children have gained a lot of new skills that nurture their holistic development and help them become more independent. All these play an important role as CJPS endeavors to guide your children to become critical thinkers and responsible members of our community.

Also this October, the Preschool Department will celebrate United Nations month.  Here, your child will experience different classroom-based activities that will focus on the arts and culture of various countries from Europe. This aims to enable your child to learn the value of respect for cultural diversity and to appreciate what makes each culture unique from one another.

Finally, October is also the Month of the Rosary. As such, all Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer as we show our love and devotion to Mama Mary.

GRADE SCHOOL

October is the month of the Holy Rosary, which highlights our devotion to Mother Mary. This festivity will lead to instilling in the hearts of our Catholic students that Mary and Jesus are with us, as we journey through the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The emphasis of the celebration is the Living Rosary.

This is also United Nations’ month. One of the objectives of CJPS is to continuously promote awareness of current issues among its students, so that they may have a better understanding of what is truly happening around them. With the theme, “Kamalayan sa Kasalukuyang Kaganapan at Kahandaan sa Kinabukasan katumbas ay Kaligtasan ng Pamilya at Sambayanan”, students will reflect on current events to help them develop a deeper appreciation of the people, events and issues that make the news.  This in turn will equip the students to be well informed of local, national and international news that may have a profound influence on them and their families. In addition, the students will be given classroom-based activities that will focus on the “good news” in our own community and country.

Lastly, taking place for this month is the annual Scouting Investiture. Our “LAGING HANDA” scouts will formally be conferred, as they commit themselves to always adhere to the scout law.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Last month, we highlighted language skills as key to sustain human relationships and enrich even the spiritual aspect of our students.

This month, the MS department of Child Jesus of Prague School will once again give unity in diversity an emphasis as we celebrate the Araling Panlipunan Month. With the theme Pagtibayin at Patatagin, Ugnayan sa Kapwa at Panginoon Natin, our students will be helped to analyze various social, national and global issues and their impact to their lives as individuals and as a Christian community. This will be done through different classroom-based activities. Students’ works anchored to this objective will also be showcased through a mini exhibit, which is both informative and interactive.

Likewise, students will get to show their aesthetic appreciation of various cultures of the world through different performances on the culminating activity to be held on October 27, 2018. Parents and guardians are invited to attend and watch this event.

Finally, as October is regarded as the month of devotion to the Holy Rosary, Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer as we show our love for Mama Mary. The a

nnual Living Rosary activity on October 25  is another highlight for this month.

HIGH SCHOOL

This October, CJPS is one with the world in celebrating United Nations Month.  With the theme “Kapayapaan at Pagkakaisa sa Kabila ng Pagkakaiba ay Pat

unay na Pagdakila sa Poong Lumikha,” this activity aims to develop informed citizens who understand the importance of people, events, and issues in the news. This in turn stimulates students to explore and learn more about the news, and to pay attention to the events they see and hear outside of school. Knowing what is happening in other countries gives people a perspective of each others’ way of life and cultural differences.

In line with this, our activities for this month include the following: General Information Quiz Bee, Editorial Writing Contest, Debate, and Talumpati. All these classroom-based activities will help instill the importance of multiculturalism, acceptance, and friendship that the United Nations represent.

Additionally, October is the month of devotion to the Holy Rosary.  Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer, as we show our love for Mama Mary.   The annual Living Rosary activity will culminate all the events for this month.
