OCTOBER

PRESCHOOL

Last September, our preschoolers learned the important role grandparents play in their lives. They also learned different songs and poems about grandparents. Because of the different activities that we had last month, they were able to understand that grandparents are one of the most important people in our lives.

This October, we celebrate United Nations Month. During Circle Time, the children would learn about some countries that teachers can relate to their lessons. They will likewise be taught greetings and counting in different languages. To end the celebration, students will visit different rooms to make crafts inspired by different countries. This aims to enable your child to learn the value of respect for cultural diversity and to appreciate what makes each culture unique from one another.

To be a part of these advocacies, we are inviting you, parents, to open their minds about the history of different countries by reading a short story before bedtime.

Moreover, the successful formation of every CJPS Student is built upon the strong relationship shared by the school and parents. Such relationship is nourished and strengthened through regular communication wherein the child’s areas of strength and difficulty are discussed. This in return, further solidifies common strategies used by teachers in school and follow-ups done by parents at home.

In this regard, we would like to invite you to our second PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE (PTC) this coming October 26, 2019 from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Calumpang Campus .

Finally, October is also the Month of the Rosary. As such, all Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer as we show our love and devotion to Mama Mary.

GRADE SCHOOL

As we celebrate the Araling Panlipunan Month, we will continuously promote awareness of current issues among our students, so that they may have a better understanding of what is truly happening around them through the daily “Balitaan” in their A.P. subject.  Students will be able to reflect on current events to help them develop a deeper appreciation of the people, events and issues that make the news.  This in turn will equip them to be well informed of local, national and international news that may have a profound influence on them and their families. In addition, the students will participate in classroom-based activities that will focus on the “good news” in our own community and country.

The following are the important activities for the Month of October:

1. Scouting Investiture – an annual Scouting activity for our “LAGING HANDA” scouts wherein they formally be conferred, as they commit themselves to always adhere to the scout law. This will happen on October 24, 2019 at 3:30-5:30pm. A follow-up  letter will be sent to you for the details.

2. Living Rosary – On October 25, 2019, the CJPS Calumpang Campus will celebrate the month of the Holy Rosary, which highlights our devotion to Mother Mary. This

festivity will lead to instilling in the hearts of our Catholic students that Mary and Jesus are with us, as we journey through the mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

3. Parent – Teacher Conference – The second PTC is scheduled on October 26, 2019 from 8:00am -12:00nn. We expect from you, dear parents, to meet and confer again

with your child’s adviser. Through this, you will get the chance to know how your child performs in school for the first half of the school year. Please expect to receive a more detailed letter from us, for your guidance.

4. Semestral Break – Students semestral break will start on October 26, 2019 and resumption of classes will be on November 4, 2019.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

We have so far culminated the English month in which our students have been able to appreciate communication skills as a significant path for building strong relationship with God and other people. Love for reading has also been empowered through our book fair.

This month, Araling Panlipunan will be the area to be highlighted with the year-round theme “When God is Our Root, Love is Our Fruit.” We will have classroom-based and home activities designed to help students understand the relevance of the past with the present, develop in them a sense of patriotism, and realize the importance and benefits of respecting one’s spiritual beliefs.

Moreover, below is the breakdown of major activities for October:

  1. Character Building Activity #3 for Grade 8 – The event was postponed last month due to class suspension. The session continues this month with a goal to help the students to practice self-discipline and self-control.
  1. Living Rosary 2019 – October is also regarded as the month of devotion to the Holy Rosary. Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer as we show our love for Mama Mary. The annual Living Rosary activity on October 25 is another highlight for this month.
  1. 2nd Parent-Teacher Conference – The second PTC is scheduled on October 26, 2019, from 8:00am to 12:00 pm. We expect you, dear parents, to confer with your child’s adviser once again to talk about your children’s performance in school. Before the said schedule, expect to receive a more detailed letter of invitation from us.

HIGH SCHOOL

Promoting unity, solidarity and world peace is the main reason why everyone should celebrate United Nations Month.

This year, our school will once again be one with the world in celebrating it with the theme Iba’t – Ibang Kultura, Lahi At Lipi: Magkaisa At Magbunyi.

The AP Department highly focuses on our students’ awareness of various social, national and global issues and their impact on the lives of students and their families.   In line with this, our activities for this month include the following: General Information Quiz Bee, Resolution Making Contest, Debate, Continental Exhibit, Boodle Fighting and Culture Binding.   All these classroom-based activities will be gearing towards the said theme.

October is also the month of devotion to the Holy Rosary. Catholic students are expected to participate in the daily prayer as we show our love for Mama Mary. The annual Living Rosary activity will culminate all the events for this month.

Likewise, please be informed that our Second Parent-Teacher Conference will be on October 26, 2019, from 8:00am to 12:00pm. A separate letter will be sent to let you know of your exact schedule on that day. We expect that you will find time to hear about your child’s performance for the first half of the school year.
