NOVEMBER BULLETIN

Preschool

Last month our students were able to visit virtually the different places in the world. They studied and learned the different cultures of different places and, most especially, they understood the goal of why we are celebrating the United Nations Day, which is PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP.

Grade School

As we close the previous month, we remember the value of inculcating in our students the appreciation for the culture and history of our society, strengthening their sense of unity and camaraderie through the activities spearheaded by the Araling Panlipunan Department.

Once again, we remain grateful to all our students, parents, and everyone involved in the success of our AP Month. We extend our gratitude to our ever-supportive parents for guiding their children in all the fun and exciting activities prepared and executed by our teachers. Congratulations to all the winners of last month’s competitions, and we look forward to seeing all our students take part in our upcoming activities.

For the months of November and December, the Mathematics and Science Departments have combined their wits and talents to maximize the opportunities for our Childeans to discover and enhance their analytical and problem solving abilities, through the most enjoyable and educative online activities. The highlights for the coming months are the annual Math Quiz Bee, Math and Science Trivia, the one-day Happy MATHSCIE Games, the ‘MATHira, mahuSCI QUIZIZZ Edition,’ and many more. The details of which will be specified in the calendar and discussed by our teachers in the coming days.

These aim to provide an exciting avenue for students to develop their skills in the two distinct, yet interconnected disciplines. Through teamwork and friendly competition, together with their family, they will also be able to demonstrate their competence to analyze and solve real-life problems. All these are inspired by the theme:

"We create school and home links, and bring faith, wisdom and love in sync.”

Additionally, the issuance of First Quarter e-Report Cards will be on November 7, 2020. And, to fortify our school-parent partnership, we encourage all parents to attend our First Parenting Online Seminar about Surviving Online Classes: Parents' Edition, which will also take place on the same day, from 9:00AM. Link invitations will be sent through your child’s email, and we hope all of you could participate.

Lastly, our Assessment Week will once again be conducted this November, and we expect all our students to be well-prepared for their oral exams, performance tasks, quizzes, and all other activities prepared by our teachers. We express our thanks to all our parents and students for your continued support for our activities, and we look forward to spending the coming months by having your online presence and participating in all our exciting events.

Middle School

In the previous Araling Panlipunan month, the Middle School (MS) students have had the opportunity to showcase their talents through art contests and news casting which tackled the relevant social issues of today. Catholic students had their month-long praying of the rosary which concluded through a Virtual Living Rosary and Middle School families had great bonding moments in the Family Scavenger Hunt last October 30. Both events were well-participated and we would like to thank all of you for your overwhelming support in our programs.

Mathematics will be the highlight for the month of November. We will still have classroom-based and home activities prepared for our students and will continue to forge strong bonds among MS Families by having another family event entitled “Figure My Family Out”.

Moreover, below is the breakdown of major activities for this month:

  1. First CJPS Parenting Seminar – This November, our guest speaker Teacher Tina Zamora will tackle the topic entitled, “Surviving Online Classes: Parents’ Edition”. This will be on November 7, 2020 at 9:00 am.
  1. Issuance of First Quarter Report Cards – Right after the parenting seminar on November 7, Report Cards will be issued through your child’s official email account. Please be reminded that your child’s class adviser will start to release report cards only after the said seminar.
  1. CJPS Staff Annual Recollection – As part of spiritual development of all CJPS staff, our annual recollection will happen on November 20, 2020. This will be a no-class day for all students. November 19 on the other hand will be assigned as a clerical day for teachers and an Asynchronous Day for students. We expect our students to make use of these days productively.
  1. Annual Christmas Gift-Giving – As part of character development, we teach our kids the values of gratefulness and generosity. We also allow them to demonstrate these in concrete scenarios just like our annual gift-giving. The beneficiaries of this activity are the less-fortunate members of our community and other institutions. This will start on December 1, 2020.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your positive feedback in the recent parents’ survey. We are delighted and motivated to know that you are very satisfied with what we are doing. For the past months, we have learned that indeed learning can take place anywhere and anytime; all you need is a strong determination and a positive outlook to see things with positivity.

We also know that with you, parents, it is not an easy feat to manage and to make things work during a global health crisis, but because of your love for your children, you will do everything to make it work.

High School

For the previous month of October, the High School students were exposed to various social, national and global issues and their impact on the lives of students and their families.  As such, the same message was instilled among the students through the activities spearheaded by the Araling Panlipunan department.

For November, the Mathematics department will provide opportunities for the CJPS students to discover and enhance their analytical and critical thinking abilities, and to showcase their creative problem-solving skills through various Mathematical activities and projects. Our classZoom-based activities for this month are inspired by the theme: “Math for Life: Creating Problem Solvers and Critical Thinkers.”  These activities are the following: Math Quiz Bee, ZoomDoKu, Math Hacks, and Family Math-Tangrams.

Moreover, the important major events to remember for the month of November are as follows:

  1. First Parenting Seminar – This will be held on November 7, 2020, at 9:00am via Zoom. The topic, “Surviving Online Classes: Parents’ Edition” is very helpful to you, parents, in helping your child cope with the online learning.
